Members of the Shourya Sri Dharmasthala Disaster Management Unit in Aghnashini village, Kumta taluk, voluntarily filled potholes and cleaned the road

The road, which runs for about 1 kilometer from the Aghnashini Anjaneya Temple to the Namadhari Sabha Bhavan, was filled with potholes that made travel difficult when heavy rain filled them with water. The community living by the river has faced this issue annually during the monsoon, and every year, volunteers from the Shourya team, with the cooperation of locals, carry out this voluntary service of cleaning and filling potholes.
This time, due to the heavy rainfall, volunteers worked to repair the road’s potholes and fill eroded areas along its sides with stones and soil. The erosion along the sides had made traffic difficult when vehicles approached from opposite directions, a problem that the team members resolved.

For the effort, volunteer Vishnu provided his pickup vehicle for free to transport the necessary stones and soil from a nearby hill. The work was carried out in the presence of Aghnashini sector supervisor Keshav.

The volunteers who participated included Vishnu, Murthy, Sandeep, Sudip, Devendra, Nagendra, Harish, Pramod, Nagaveni, Ramani, Pradeep, and Sharavana Kumar.
